What's included

Aurora storm damage response

  • Site safety first — we tarp damaged roofs, isolate any line contact, and secure the work area before anything else.
  • Photo documentation for your insurer — before, during, and after photos in a single submission-ready package.
  • Itemized invoice formatted for claim — line items match Ontario insurance industry standard categories.
  • Arborist report (if your insurer requires) — ISA-certified report justifying the removal scope. $250-$500 extra.
  • Adjuster direct contact — with your permission we can speak directly to your insurance adjuster about scope and cost.
  • Coordination with your roofer — we leave the site in a state where the roofer can begin without re-clearing debris.
  • Hydro coordination if line involved — we work with Alectra to schedule safe removal around any line de-energization.

How it works

  4. 4

    Job done. Yard left clean.

Crew arrives with proper insurance and safety gear. All debris removed; lawn left as found. You get an invoice and a 12-month workmanship guarantee.

Storm damage questions

Aurora storm tree damage: common questions

Will my home insurance cover storm tree damage?

Most Ontario home insurance policies (Aviva, Intact, Travelers, Wawanesa, TD Insurance, etc.) cover the cost of removing a tree that has damaged your insured structure — house, garage, fence, shed. They typically do NOT cover removal of a fallen tree that did not damage anything. They also generally do not cover preventive removal of a tree that "looks unsafe" after a storm. Coverage limits vary; check your specific policy or call your broker before scheduling.

Should I call my insurance or you first?

Call us first to make the site safe (cover damaged roof with a tarp, clear immediate hazards). Then call your insurer to start the claim. They will ask for photographs (we take them), an invoice with line-item costs (we provide), and sometimes an arborist report (we provide for an extra fee if your insurer requires it). We can speak directly to your adjuster if needed.

What if a tree fell but didn't hit anything?

Standard removal pricing applies (CAD $800-$3,500), not emergency pricing, unless the tree is blocking access to your driveway/road. Your insurance probably will NOT cover it — fallen trees with no structural damage are usually the homeowner's responsibility. We give you the same written, itemized quote regardless.

How quickly can you respond after a major storm?

It depends on the scale of the event. After a localized wind storm we can usually dispatch within 24 hours. After a major regional event (December 2013 ice storm scale) every crew in the GTA is fully booked for 2-3 weeks. We triage by severity — structural damage and access blockage first, then property cleanup. Call as soon as it's safe; we'll give you a realistic response window.

Will your crew tarp my damaged roof?

Yes — we carry tarps and can secure them temporarily as part of an emergency response, at no separate charge. This is for site safety, not as a substitute for proper roof repair. You should still book a roofing contractor as soon as possible to make permanent repairs. Damaged roof tarps degrade quickly in sun and weather.

Can you help with the insurance arborist report?

Yes. Some insurers require an arborist report justifying the removal cost, especially for trees that were damaged but not destroyed. Our partner ISA-certified arborists write reports for $250-$500 depending on complexity. The report is yours; you submit it to your insurer with the invoice. Most insurers reimburse the report cost as part of the claim.
