How fast can you get here?
During business hours (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, Sat 9am-3pm), our goal is same-day response — typically 2-6 hours from your call, depending on crew availability and how far they have to travel within the GTA. After-hours and Sundays, the partner crew on call will return your voicemail within 12 hours and dispatch as soon as safe. If the tree is on a power line, your hydro provider (Alectra in Aurora) takes priority and we coordinate with them.
What counts as an 'emergency'?
Tree on a structure (house, garage, shed, fence), tree on a vehicle, tree blocking a driveway or road, tree in contact with overhead lines (hydro, telecom, cable), or a tree that's actively splitting, leaning toward a structure, or about to fall. If you're not sure, call and describe what you see — we'll tell you honestly whether it's an emergency or whether it can wait for a regular quote.
What if the tree is touching a power line?
Call Alectra immediately (1-833-ALECTRA / 1-833-253-2872) before doing anything else. Do NOT touch the tree, the line, or anything in contact with either. Once Alectra has been notified and is en route or has de-energized the line, call us and we will coordinate the safe removal with them. There is no charge for the coordination call itself.
How much more does emergency removal cost?
Emergency removals typically run CAD $1,200-$5,000 versus $800-$3,500 for scheduled work. The premium covers crew dispatch (overtime if after-hours), expedited permit handling, hydro coordination if needed, and a smaller window of equipment availability. We give you a verbal estimate before the crew is dispatched, then a written quote on arrival.
Will my insurance cover this?
Often yes — most Ontario home insurance policies cover the cost of removing a tree that has damaged your insured structure (house, fence, garage). Coverage usually does NOT extend to removing a tree that fell but did not hit anything insured. We provide an itemized invoice formatted for claim submission and can speak directly with your adjuster if needed. We are not insurance brokers and cannot guarantee coverage; check with your insurer.
What if it's the middle of the night?
Call us and leave a voicemail describing the situation. The partner crew on call rotation will hear your message and respond within 12 hours. For immediate life-safety emergencies (active fire, downed energized line, structural collapse), call 911 first. Then call your hydro provider. Then call us.
